Famous Trial Project
Objective:
-To research a famous case from the perspective of either the prosecution or the defense.
- to understand the trial process, types of evidence, types of arguments, defenses, and the burden of proof.

Assignment:
- you and your partner will pick a famous case that is interesting to you. One person look at the case from the State’s (prosecution) perspective and the other from the defense’s
EACH person on the team will be graded according to how well they individually accomplish the follow:

___ uses powerpoint effectively to illustrate the evidence of the trial. (25 pts)
  1. has between 5- 10 slide that are used to bolster your argument
  2. does not read directly off of the screen (use only bulleted phrases)
  3. use pictures, documents, maps, charts, quotes, video clips etc..

__ presentation accurately and comprehensively reflects the real trial. (35 pts)
  1. shows specific dates, times , people’s names, places, evidence
  2. research is accurate and thorough. YOU NEED TO KNOW THE CASE INSIDE AND OUT!!!


___ presentation is a bare minimum of 5 minutes (25pts)
  1. one point will be taken off for every second you are under 5 minutes.
  2. Rehearse and prepare your argument


presentation reflects understand of the role of the prosecutor / defense and the burden of proof (15 pts)

  1. must be coordinate with the other member of the team
-no repetition; one person take certain elements of the case the other take other elements of the case
